மூன்றாம் நாள் விடியற்காலத்தில் இடிமுழக்கங்களும் மின்னல்களும், மலையின்மேல் கார்மேகமும் மகா பலத்த எக்காளசத்தமும் உண்டாயிற்று; பாளயத்திலிருந்த ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் நடுங்கினார்கள்

And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

எப்படியெனில், மனுஷர்கள் தற்பிரியராயும், பணப்பிரியராயும், வீம்புக்காரராயும், அகந்தையுள்ளவர்களாயும், தூஷிக்கிறவர்களாயும், தாய் தகப்பன்மாருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களாயும், நன்றியறியாதவர்களாயும், பரிசுத்தமில்லாதவர்களாயும்,
சுபாவ அன்பில்லாதவர்களாயும், இணங்காதவர்களாயும், அவதூறு செய்கிறவர்களாயும், இச்சையடக்கமில்லாதவர்களாயும், கொடுமையுள்ளவர்களாயும், நல்லோரைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களாயும்,

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

ஆகையால், சர்ப்பங்களைப்போல வினாவுள்ளவர்களும் புறாக்களைப்போலக் கபடற்றவர்களுமாய் இருங்கள்.

1. கள்ளத்தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே இருந்தார்கள், அப்படியே உங்களுக்குள்ளும் கள்ளப்போதகர்கள் இருப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் கேட்டுக்கேதுவான வேதப்புரட்டுகளைத் தந்திரமாய் நுழையப்பண்ணி, தங்களைக் கிரயத்துக்குக்கொண்ட ஆண்டவரை மறுதலித்து, தங்களுக்குத் தீவிரமான அழிவை வருவித்துக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்.
2. அவர்களுடைய கெட்ட நடக்கைகளை அநேகர் பின்பற்றுவார்கள்; அவர்கள்நிமித்தம் சத்தியமார்க்கம் தூஷிக்கப்படும்.
3. பொருளாசையுடையவர்களாய், தந்திரமான வார்த்தைகளால் உங்களைத் தங்களுக்கு ஆதாயமாக வசப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்; பூர்வகாலமுதல் அவர்களுக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட ஆக்கினை அயர்ந்திராது, அவர்களுடைய அழிவு உறங்காது.
4. பாவஞ்செய்த தூதர்களை தேவன் தப்பவிடாமல், அந்தகாரச் சங்கிலிகளினாலே கட்டி நரகத்திலே தள்ளி நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து;
5. பூர்வ உலகத்தையும் தப்பவிடாமல், நீதியைப் பிரசங்கித்தவனாகிய நோவா முதலான எட்டுப்பேரைக் காப்பாற்றி, அவபக்தியுள்ளவர்கள் நிறைந்த உலகத்தின்மேல் ஜலப்பிரளயத்தை வரப்பண்ணி;
6. சோதோம் கொமோரா என்னும் பட்டணங்களையும் சாம்பலாக்கிக் கவிழ்த்துப்போட்டு, ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்து, பிற்காலத்திலே அவபக்தியாய் நடப்பவர்களுக்கு அவைகளைத் திருஷ்டாந்தமாக வைத்து;
7. அக்கிரமக்காரருக்குள் வாசமாயிருக்கையில் அவர்களுடைய காமவிகார நடக்கையால் வருத்தப்பட்டு;
8. நாள்தோறும் அவர்களுடைய அக்கிரமக்கிரியைகளைக் கண்டு கேட்டு நீதியுள்ள தன்னுடைய இருதயத்தில் வாதிக்கப்பட்ட நீதிமானாகிய லோத்தை அவர் இரட்சித்திருக்க;
9. கர்த்தர் தேவபக்தியுள்ளவர்களைச் சோதனையினின்று இரட்சிக்கவும், அக்கிரமக்காரரை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளானவர்களாக நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளுக்கு வைக்கவும் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.
10. விசேஷமாக அசுத்த இச்சையோடே மாம்சத்திற்கேற்றபடி நடந்து, கர்த்தத்துவத்தை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறவர்களை அப்படிச் செய்வார். இவர்கள் துணிகரக்காரர், அகங்காரிகள், மகத்துவங்களை தூஷிக்க அஞ்சாதவர்கள்.
11. அதிக பெலனையும் வல்லமையையுமுடைய தேவதூதர்கள் முதலாய்க் கர்த்தருக்குமுன்பாக அவர்களைத் தூஷணமாய்க் குற்றப்படுத்தமாட்டார்களே.
12. இவர்களோ பிடிபட்டழிக்கப்படுவதற்கு உண்டான புத்தியற்ற மிருகஜீவன்களைப்போலத் தங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதவைகளைத் தூஷித்து, தங்கள் கேட்டிலே கெட்டழிந்து, அநீதத்தின் பலனை அடைவார்கள்.
13. இவர்கள் ஒருநாள் வாழ்வை இன்பமென்றெண்ணி, கறைகளும் இலச்சைகளுமாயிருந்து; உங்களோடே விருந்துண்கையில் தங்கள் வஞ்சனைகளில் உல்லாசமாய் வாழ்கிறவர்கள்;
14. விபசார மயக்கத்தால் நிறைந்தவைகளும், பாவத்தைவிட்டோயாதவைகளுமாயிருக்கிற கண்களையுடையவர்கள்; உறுதியில்லாத ஆத்துமாக்களைத் தந்திரமாய்ப் பிடித்து, பொருளாசைகளில் பழகின இருதயத்தையுடைய சாபத்தின் பிள்ளைகள்.
15. செம்மையான வழியைவிட்டுத் தப்பிநடந்து, பேயோரின் குமாரனாகிய பிலேயாமின் வழியைப் பின்பற்றிப்போனவர்கள்; அவன் அநீதத்தின் கூலியைவிரும்பி,
16. தன்னுடைய அக்கிரமத்தினிமித்தம் கடிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டான்; பேசாத மிருகம் மனுஷர்பேச்சைப் பேசித் தீர்க்கதரிசியினுடைய மதிகேட்டைத் தடுத்தது.
17. இவர்கள் தண்ணீரில்லாத கிணறுகளும், சுழல்காற்றினால் அடியுண்டோடுகிற மேகங்களுமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்; என்றென்றைக்குமுள்ள காரிருளே இவர்களுக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
18. வஞ்சகமாய் நடக்கிறவர்களிடத்திலிருந்து அரிதாய்த் தப்பினவர்களிடத்தில் இவர்கள் அகந்தையான வீண்வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசி, மாம்ச இச்சைகளினாலும் காமவிகாரங்களினாலும் அவர்களைத் தந்திரமாய்ப் பிடிக்கிறார்கள்.
19. தாங்களே கேட்டுக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருந்தும், அவர்களுக்குச் சுயாதீனத்தை வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; எதினால் ஒருவன் ஜெயிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறானோ அதற்கு அவன் அடிமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறானே.
20. கர்த்தரும் இரட்சகருமாயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை அறிகிற அறிவினாலே உலகத்தின் அசுத்தங்களுக்குத் தப்பினவர்கள் மறுபடியும் அவைகளால் சிக்கிக்கொண்டு ஜெயிக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்களுடைய பின்னிலைமை முன்னிலைமையிலும் கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்.
21. அவர்கள் நீதியின் மார்க்கத்தை அறிந்த பின்பு தங்களுக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்ட பரிசுத்த கற்பனையை விட்டு விலகுவதைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதை அறியாதிருந்தார்களானால் அவர்களுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.
22. நாய் தான் கக்கினதைத் தின்னவும், கழுவப்பட்ட பன்றி சேற்றிலே புரளவும் திரும்பினது என்று சொல்லப்பட்ட மெய்யான பழமொழியின்படியே அவர்களுக்குச் சம்பவித்தது.
II பேதுரு 2:1-22
2. அவர்களுடைய கெட்ட நடக்கைகளை அநேகர் பின்பற்றுவார்கள்; அவர்கள்நிமித்தம் சத்தியமார்க்கம் தூஷிக்கப்படும்.
3. பொருளாசையுடையவர்களாய், தந்திரமான வார்த்தைகளால் உங்களைத் தங்களுக்கு ஆதாயமாக வசப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்; பூர்வகாலமுதல் அவர்களுக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட ஆக்கினை அயர்ந்திராது, அவர்களுடைய அழிவு உறங்காது.
4. பாவஞ்செய்த தூதர்களை தேவன் தப்பவிடாமல், அந்தகாரச் சங்கிலிகளினாலே கட்டி நரகத்திலே தள்ளி நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து;

7. அக்கிரமக்காரருக்குள் வாசமாயிருக்கையில் அவர்களுடைய காமவிகார நடக்கையால் வருத்தப்பட்டு;
8. நாள்தோறும் அவர்களுடைய அக்கிரமக்கிரியைகளைக் கண்டு கேட்டு நீதியுள்ள தன்னுடைய இருதயத்தில் வாதிக்கப்பட்ட நீதிமானாகிய லோத்தை அவர் இரட்சித்திருக்க;
9. கர்த்தர் தேவபக்தியுள்ளவர்களைச் சோதனையினின்று இரட்சிக்கவும், அக்கிரமக்காரரை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளானவர்களாக நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளுக்கு வைக்கவும் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்.

19. தாங்களே கேட்டுக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருந்தும், அவர்களுக்குச் சுயாதீனத்தை வாக்குத்தத்தம்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; எதினால் ஒருவன் ஜெயிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறானோ அதற்கு அவன் அடிமைப்பட்டிருக்கிறானே.
20. கர்த்தரும் இரட்சகருமாயிருக்கிற இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை அறிகிற அறிவினாலே உலகத்தின் அசுத்தங்களுக்குத் தப்பினவர்கள் மறுபடியும் அவைகளால் சிக்கிக்கொண்டு ஜெயிக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்களுடைய பின்னிலைமை முன்னிலைமையிலும் கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்.
21. அவர்கள் நீதியின் மார்க்கத்தை அறிந்த பின்பு தங்களுக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்ட பரிசுத்த கற்பனையை விட்டு விலகுவதைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதை அறியாதிருந்தார்களானால் அவர்களுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.
22. நாய் தான் கக்கினதைத் தின்னவும், கழுவப்பட்ட பன்றி சேற்றிலே புரளவும் திரும்பினது என்று சொல்லப்பட்ட மெய்யான பழமொழியின்படியே அவர்களுக்குச் சம்பவித்தது.
II பேதுரு 2:1-22
1. But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
4. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5. And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6. And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7. And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8. (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
11. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
12. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13. And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14. Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15. Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16. But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
17. These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20. For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols. For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things. I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things, And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife, Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination, Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour's wife, Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment, That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live. As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity. Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth, Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name: That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress. They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly. Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them. For I know your manifold transgressions, and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right. Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time. Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing. And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD. Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light. As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it? I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? - தூரத்திலுள்ளவர்களே, நான் செய்கிறதைக் கேளுங்கள்; சமீபத்திலிருக்கிறவர்களே என் பராக்கிரமத்தை அறிந்துகொள்ளுங்கள் என்கிறார்.(ஏசாயா 33:13)
Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.(Isaiah 3:13)
- ஏனெனில், உலகமுண்டானதுமுதல் இதுவரைக்கும் சம்பவித்திராததும், இனிமேலும் சம்பவியாததுமான மிகுந்த உபத்திரவம் அப்பொழுது உண்டாயிருக்கும்.(மத்தேயு 24:21)

1.ஐந்தாம் தூதன் எக்காளம் ஊதினான்; அப்பொழுது வானத்திலிருந்து பூமியின்மேல் விழுந்த ஒரு நட்சத்திரத்தைக் கண்டேன்; அவனுக்குப் பாதாளக்குழியின் திறவுகோல் கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
2. அவன் பாதாளக்குழியைத் திறந்தான்; உடனே பெருஞ்சூளையின் புகையைப்போல அந்தக் குழியிலிருந்து புகைஎழும்பிற்று; அந்தக் குழியின் புகையில் சூரியனும் ஆகாயமும் அந்தகாரப்பட்டது.
3. அந்தப் புகையிலிருந்து வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் புறப்பட்டுப் பூமியின்மேல் வந்தது; அவைகளுக்குப் பூமியிலுள்ள தேள்களின் வல்லமைக்கொப்பான வல்லமை கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
4. பூமியின் புல்லையும் பசுமையான எந்தப் பூண்டையும் எந்த மரத்தையும் சேதப்படுத்தாமல், தங்கள் நெற்றிகளில் தேவனுடைய முத்திரையைத் தரித்திராத மனுஷரைமாத்திரம் சேதப்படுத்த அவைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
5. மேலும் அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படிக்கு அவைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கப்படாமல், ஐந்துமாதமளவும் அவர்களை வேதனைப்படுத்தும்படிக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கப்பட்டது; அவைகள் செய்யும்வேதனை தேளானது மனுஷரைக் கொட்டும்போது உண்டாகும் வேதனையையைப்போலிருக்கும்.
6. அந்நாட்களில் மனுஷர்கள் சாவைத்தேடியும் அதைக் காணாதிருப்பார்கள், சாகவேண்டுமென்று ஆசைப்படுவார்கள், சாவோ அவர்களுக்கு விலகி ஓடிப்போம்.
7. அந்த வெட்டுக்கிளிகளின் உருவம் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்ட குதிரைகளுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருந்தது; அவைகளுடைய தலைகளின்மேல் பொன்மயமான கிரீடம் போன்றவைகளிருந்தன; அவைகளின் முகங்கள் மனுஷருடைய முகங்கள்போலிருந்தன.
8. அவைகளுடைய கூந்தல் ஸ்திரீகளுடைய கூந்தல்போலிருந்தது; அவைகளின் பற்கள் சிங்கங்களின் பற்கள்போலிருந்தன.
9. இருப்புக் கவசங்களைப்போல மார்க்கவசங்கள் அவைகளுக்கு இருந்தன; அவைகளுடைய சிறகுகளின் இரைச்சல் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஓடுகிற அநேகங் குதிரைகள் பூண்ட இரதங்களின் இரைச்சலுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருந்தன.
10. அவைகள் தேள்களின் வால்களுக்கு ஒப்பான வால்களையும், அந்த வால்களில் கொடுக்குகளையும் உடையவைகளாயிருந்தன; அவைகள் ஐந்து மாதமளவும் மனுஷரைச் சேதப்படுத்துவதற்கு அதிகாரமுடையவைகளாயிருந்தன.
11. அவைகளுக்கு ஒரு ராஜன் உண்டு, அவன் பாதாளத்தின் தூதன்; எபிரெயு பாஷையிலே அபெத்தோன் என்றும், கிரேக்கு பாஷையிலே அப்பொல்லியோன் என்றும் அவனுக்குப் பெயர்.
12. முதலாம் ஆபத்து கடந்துபோயிற்று; இவைகளுக்குப்பின்பு இன்னும் இரண்டு ஆபத்துகள், இதோ, வருகிறது.
13. ஆறாம் தூதன் எக்காளம் ஊதினான்; அப்பொழுது அவனுக்கு முன்பாக இருந்த பொற்பீடத்தின் நான்கு கொம்புகளிலுமிருந்து ஒரு சத்தந்தோன்றி,
14. எக்காளத்தைப் பிடித்திருந்த ஆறாம் தூதனை நோக்கி: ஐப்பிராத்தென்னும் பெரிய நதியண்டையிலே கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிற நான்கு தூதர்களையும் அவிழ்த்துவிடு என்று சொல்லக்கேட்டேன்.
15. அப்பொழுது மனுஷரில் மூன்றிலொருபங்கைக் கொல்லும்படிக்கு ஒருமணிநேரத்திற்கும், ஒரு நாளுக்கும், ஒரு மாதத்திற்கும், ஒரு வருஷத்திற்கும் ஆயத்தமாக்கப்பட்டிருந்த அந்த நான்கு தூதர்களும் அவிழ்த்துவிடப்பட்டார்கள்.
16. குதிரைச்சேனைகளாகிய இராணுவங்களின் தொகை இருபது கோடியாயிருந்தது; அவைகளின் தொகையைச் சொல்லக்கேட்டேன்.
17. குதிரைகளையும் அவைகளின்மேல் ஏறியிருந்தவர்களையும் நான் தரிசனத்தில் கண்டவிதமாவது; அவர்கள் அக்கினிநிறமும் நீலநிறமும் கந்தகநிறமுமான மார்க்கவசங்களையுடையவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்; குதிரைகளுடைய தலைகள் சிங்கங்களின் தலைகளைப்போலிருந்தன; அவைகளுடைய வாய்களிலிருந்து அக்கினியும் புகையும் கந்தகமும் புறப்பட்டன.
18. அவைகளுடைய வாய்களிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட அக்கினி புகை கந்தகம் என்னும் இம்மூன்றினாலும் மனுஷரில் மூன்றிலொருபங்கு கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள்.
19. அந்தக் குதிரைகளின் வல்லமை அவைகளுடைய வாயிலேயும் வால்களிலேயும் இருக்கிறது; அவைகளுடைய வால்கள் பாம்புகளுக்கு ஒப்பானவைகளாயும், தலைகளுள்ளவைகளாயுமிருக்கிறது, அவைகளாலே சேதப்படுத்துகிறது.
20. அப்படியிருந்தும், அந்த வாதைகளால் கொல்லப்படாத மற்ற மனுஷர்கள் பேய்களையும், பொன் வெள்ளி செம்பு கல்மரம் என்பவைகளால் செய்யப்பட்டவைகளாயும் காணவும் கேட்கவும் நடக்கவுமாட்டாதவைகளாயுமிருக்கிற விக்கிரகங்களையும் வணங்காதபடிக்குத் தங்கள் கைகளின் கிரியைகளை விட்டு மனந்திரும்பவுமில்லை;
21. தங்கள் கொலைபாதகங்களையும், தங்கள் சூனியங்களையும், தங்கள் வேசித்தனங்களையும், தங்கள் களவுகளையும் விட்டு மனந்திரும்பவுமில்லை.
2. அவன் பாதாளக்குழியைத் திறந்தான்; உடனே பெருஞ்சூளையின் புகையைப்போல அந்தக் குழியிலிருந்து புகைஎழும்பிற்று; அந்தக் குழியின் புகையில் சூரியனும் ஆகாயமும் அந்தகாரப்பட்டது.
3. அந்தப் புகையிலிருந்து வெட்டுக்கிளிகள் புறப்பட்டுப் பூமியின்மேல் வந்தது; அவைகளுக்குப் பூமியிலுள்ள தேள்களின் வல்லமைக்கொப்பான வல்லமை கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
4. பூமியின் புல்லையும் பசுமையான எந்தப் பூண்டையும் எந்த மரத்தையும் சேதப்படுத்தாமல், தங்கள் நெற்றிகளில் தேவனுடைய முத்திரையைத் தரித்திராத மனுஷரைமாத்திரம் சேதப்படுத்த அவைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
5. மேலும் அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படிக்கு அவைகளுக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கப்படாமல், ஐந்துமாதமளவும் அவர்களை வேதனைப்படுத்தும்படிக்கு உத்தரவு கொடுக்கப்பட்டது; அவைகள் செய்யும்வேதனை தேளானது மனுஷரைக் கொட்டும்போது உண்டாகும் வேதனையையைப்போலிருக்கும்.
6. அந்நாட்களில் மனுஷர்கள் சாவைத்தேடியும் அதைக் காணாதிருப்பார்கள், சாகவேண்டுமென்று ஆசைப்படுவார்கள், சாவோ அவர்களுக்கு விலகி ஓடிப்போம்.
7. அந்த வெட்டுக்கிளிகளின் உருவம் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஆயத்தம்பண்ணப்பட்ட குதிரைகளுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருந்தது; அவைகளுடைய தலைகளின்மேல் பொன்மயமான கிரீடம் போன்றவைகளிருந்தன; அவைகளின் முகங்கள் மனுஷருடைய முகங்கள்போலிருந்தன.
8. அவைகளுடைய கூந்தல் ஸ்திரீகளுடைய கூந்தல்போலிருந்தது; அவைகளின் பற்கள் சிங்கங்களின் பற்கள்போலிருந்தன.
9. இருப்புக் கவசங்களைப்போல மார்க்கவசங்கள் அவைகளுக்கு இருந்தன; அவைகளுடைய சிறகுகளின் இரைச்சல் யுத்தத்திற்கு ஓடுகிற அநேகங் குதிரைகள் பூண்ட இரதங்களின் இரைச்சலுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருந்தன.
10. அவைகள் தேள்களின் வால்களுக்கு ஒப்பான வால்களையும், அந்த வால்களில் கொடுக்குகளையும் உடையவைகளாயிருந்தன; அவைகள் ஐந்து மாதமளவும் மனுஷரைச் சேதப்படுத்துவதற்கு அதிகாரமுடையவைகளாயிருந்தன.
11. அவைகளுக்கு ஒரு ராஜன் உண்டு, அவன் பாதாளத்தின் தூதன்; எபிரெயு பாஷையிலே அபெத்தோன் என்றும், கிரேக்கு பாஷையிலே அப்பொல்லியோன் என்றும் அவனுக்குப் பெயர்.
12. முதலாம் ஆபத்து கடந்துபோயிற்று; இவைகளுக்குப்பின்பு இன்னும் இரண்டு ஆபத்துகள், இதோ, வருகிறது.
13. ஆறாம் தூதன் எக்காளம் ஊதினான்; அப்பொழுது அவனுக்கு முன்பாக இருந்த பொற்பீடத்தின் நான்கு கொம்புகளிலுமிருந்து ஒரு சத்தந்தோன்றி,
14. எக்காளத்தைப் பிடித்திருந்த ஆறாம் தூதனை நோக்கி: ஐப்பிராத்தென்னும் பெரிய நதியண்டையிலே கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கிற நான்கு தூதர்களையும் அவிழ்த்துவிடு என்று சொல்லக்கேட்டேன்.
15. அப்பொழுது மனுஷரில் மூன்றிலொருபங்கைக் கொல்லும்படிக்கு ஒருமணிநேரத்திற்கும், ஒரு நாளுக்கும், ஒரு மாதத்திற்கும், ஒரு வருஷத்திற்கும் ஆயத்தமாக்கப்பட்டிருந்த அந்த நான்கு தூதர்களும் அவிழ்த்துவிடப்பட்டார்கள்.
16. குதிரைச்சேனைகளாகிய இராணுவங்களின் தொகை இருபது கோடியாயிருந்தது; அவைகளின் தொகையைச் சொல்லக்கேட்டேன்.
17. குதிரைகளையும் அவைகளின்மேல் ஏறியிருந்தவர்களையும் நான் தரிசனத்தில் கண்டவிதமாவது; அவர்கள் அக்கினிநிறமும் நீலநிறமும் கந்தகநிறமுமான மார்க்கவசங்களையுடையவர்களாயிருந்தார்கள்; குதிரைகளுடைய தலைகள் சிங்கங்களின் தலைகளைப்போலிருந்தன; அவைகளுடைய வாய்களிலிருந்து அக்கினியும் புகையும் கந்தகமும் புறப்பட்டன.
18. அவைகளுடைய வாய்களிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட அக்கினி புகை கந்தகம் என்னும் இம்மூன்றினாலும் மனுஷரில் மூன்றிலொருபங்கு கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள்.
19. அந்தக் குதிரைகளின் வல்லமை அவைகளுடைய வாயிலேயும் வால்களிலேயும் இருக்கிறது; அவைகளுடைய வால்கள் பாம்புகளுக்கு ஒப்பானவைகளாயும், தலைகளுள்ளவைகளாயுமிருக்கிறது, அவைகளாலே சேதப்படுத்துகிறது.
20. அப்படியிருந்தும், அந்த வாதைகளால் கொல்லப்படாத மற்ற மனுஷர்கள் பேய்களையும், பொன் வெள்ளி செம்பு கல்மரம் என்பவைகளால் செய்யப்பட்டவைகளாயும் காணவும் கேட்கவும் நடக்கவுமாட்டாதவைகளாயுமிருக்கிற விக்கிரகங்களையும் வணங்காதபடிக்குத் தங்கள் கைகளின் கிரியைகளை விட்டு மனந்திரும்பவுமில்லை;
21. தங்கள் கொலைபாதகங்களையும், தங்கள் சூனியங்களையும், தங்கள் வேசித்தனங்களையும், தங்கள் களவுகளையும் விட்டு மனந்திரும்பவுமில்லை.

அவர்கள் திருவசனத்திற்கு கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களாயிருந்து இடறுகிறார்கள்; அதற்கென்றே நியமிக்கப்பட்டவர்களாயும் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

ஆகையால் பரலோகங்களே! அவைகளில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவர்களே! களிகூருங்கள். பூமியிலும் சமுத்திரத்திலும் குடியிருக்கிறவர்களே! ஐயோ, பிசாசானவன் தனக்குக் கொஞ்சக்காலமாத்திரம் உண்டென்று அறிந்து, மிகுந்த கோபங்கொண்டு, உங்களிடத்தில் இறங்கினபடியால், உங்களுக்கு ஆபத்துவரும் என்று சொல்லக்கேட்டேன்.

3. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

14. Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
17. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
18. By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19. For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
20. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21. Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of
their thefts.
